“Whoever is happy will make others happy too.” – Mark Twain

Words have tremendous power. Positive words immediately affect our mindset, attitude, and performance. Positive words also instantly affect our physiology.

Likewise, negative words have an immediate toxic impact on our minds and bodies. Words can and do hurt. If much of your life is negative, what can you do to change?

An immediate suggestion is for you to change the words you use. Try habitually saying:

  • ‘Great! You are fantastic at…’
  • ‘I believe you can do this.’
  • ‘I’m proud of you.’
  • ‘How can I help you?’
  • ‘I am doing really well.’
  • ‘We will soon be doing even better.’
  • ‘I appreciate…’
  • ‘I really admire…’
  • ‘I am grateful for…’
  • ‘I really love you.’

Your life is a unique and special one-time gift. Don’t spoil it with toxic thoughts or negative words.

The way we talk is the way we are. Watch your words!

“Flatter me, and I may not believe you.
Criticise me, and I may not like you.
Ignore me, and I may not forgive you.
Encourage me, and I may not forget you.”

William Arthur
