1. Today’s leaders must offer “burden relief” to their team members.
Remove obstacles, eliminate barriers, and allow your team members to apply their creativity and talents to their core work.
2. Make it easier to do business with your company.
Try and simplify whatever you can. Ambiguity and complexity in our industries and markets is the order of the day. Strive to eliminate complexity and allow your team members to focus on taking bite-sized chunks out of mountain-sized challenges.
3. Adjust your attitude every day before work.
Take a few minutes in the parking lot, at the coffee shop, or your desk before the busyness starts, and focus on what you can do to make a difference today.
4. Show some grit.
Grit is the leader who, in times of adversity, shoulders the burden and refuses to quit and refuses to let their people give up. Remember, individuals with grit are short on “I can’t.”
It’s time for all of us to rethink how to reapply the management and leadership tools to a world that is not going to revert to what used to work.
